Halloween VR Games in Jacksonville & Daytona Beach

Halloween VR Games in Jacksonville & Daytona Beach

Looking for something to do for Halloween around Jacksonville, Orange Park, or Daytona Beach? Skip the movie marathon and walk into the horror game instead. This October, our free-roam VR arena has a lineup of haunted-house, cursed-manor, and zombie games, and you play them with your friends in the same room.

What a free-roam VR arena actually is

Most people picture VR as a headset on a couch. Ours is different. A free-roam arena is a large, open room where you physically walk around while you play. There are no wires, no backpack computer, and no treadmill. When you turn a corner in the game, you turn your body. When something moves in the dark next to you, you take a real step back.

That's what makes it so good for Halloween. A scary movie happens to you from a seat. A free-roam game happens around you, and your whole group is in it together. You'll hear your friends yelling about something you haven't even seen yet, and by the end everyone is laughing, including the person who swore they wouldn't get scared.

Our Halloween VR games

We pulled together the games that fit October best and made them easy to book. Look for the Halloween Special Games on both of our VR booking pages. Pick a game, choose how many people are playing, pick a time, and you're done. No scrolling through the full list.

In Escape the VR, a team of 2 to 5 works together to solve puzzles and get out:

  • Mansion of Death: you and your team are trapped inside a cursed manor, with twisted puzzles and cryptic clues standing between you and the door.
  • Manor of Escape: a mad count has been running evil experiments with dangerous creatures in his creepy manor. You get inside, investigate, and try to make it out alive.

In Action VR Games, you can play solo or with up to 4 friends:

  • The Haunting: Dr. Nikolov lost his wife in a terrible accident, and his daughter, who saw it happen, was never the same again. It's a story-driven game.
  • Zombie Urban Factory: a mad scientist locks you in an abandoned factory to test his monsters. There are no puzzles here. It's pure survival while he taunts you.
  • Mission Z and Mission Z II: zombie shooters built around aim, teamwork, and trusting your friends. The sequel adds a crazy train ride and Lord Grave's biggest challenge yet.
  • Death Squad: a co-op, wave-based shooter where hordes of zombies overrun one area after another.

Why free-roam VR works so well for Halloween

A lot of people tell us they tried VR once and didn't see what the hype was about. Usually that was a seated headset tied to a computer, in a spot the size of a closet. A free-roam arena is a different experience. When you can walk, crouch, and move through a space with your group, it stops feeling like you're watching a game and starts feeling like you're in one.

It's also great for groups, because everyone plays at the same time. Nobody sits on the sidelines waiting for a turn. You're all sharing the same space, in the same spooky place, and someone is always going the wrong way while someone else hides behind them. That's the story you'll be telling for weeks.

You don't need any gaming experience either. Our staff put the headset on you and take it off when you're done, so you never have to fight with the straps. If you've never tried VR before, you'll be fine.

Great for groups, date nights, and October birthdays

  • Friend groups: grab three or four people and pick a zombie shooter. It gets loud, and everyone ends up laughing.
  • Date night: Mansion of Death or Manor of Escape gives you something to work through together, and somebody gets to be brave on purpose. We have date night bookings ready to go.
  • Birthdays near Halloween: if yours falls in October, this is an easy way to do something different. See our Daytona Beach and Orange Park birthday pages.
  • Going solo: Action VR Games works for a single player. Escape the VR needs at least two.

Turn it into a full Halloween night out

Our VR arena sits in the same building as our rage rooms, axe throwing, and Splash Attack paint room, so you can build a whole night around one stop. Start with a round of rage room smashing or axe throwing, then finish in the arena. Book two activities and you save $10 per person. Three saves $15 per person, and all four saves $20 per person.

Need a plan that stays indoors? Take a look at our guides to indoor things to do in Orange Park and Daytona Beach. Short on time? Our guide to what fits your schedule helps you pick.

Halloween VR game pricing

Action VR Games is $19.99 per person, and Escape the VR is $29.99 per person. The headset and gear are included. When you pick a Halloween game, the price you see is the number of players times the session price, so you know your total before you book.

Where to play: Orange Park and Daytona Beach

Our Orange Park location is just south of Jacksonville, at 1101 Blanding Blvd #101. Our Daytona Beach location is on North Atlantic Avenue, right on A1A across from the beach. Both locations run the same VR games, the same prices, and the same booking system.

Before you come in

We recommend VR for ages 13 and up, though that's really a parent's call, especially with the scarier games. No running or jumping in the arena, since it interferes with tracking, and no food or drinks inside. If you get motion sick or scare easily, let our staff know before you start and we'll help you pick the best game for your group. You'll still need to sign a waiver and wear closed-toe shoes, the same as any other activity here.

Book your Halloween VR game

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so booking ahead is the easiest way to lock in the time you want. Thank you to everyone who has picked us for a group night. We can't wait to hear you yell at a zombie this month.
